Chiropody & Podiatry

Fourteen million people seek medical advice about their feet every year: hardly surprising when you consider that our feet help us to balance and carry us the equivalent of five times around the world in an average lifetime. That is why it is vital that we take care of our feet, and seek expert advice from a Chiropodist or Podiatrist to prevent and treat any problems.

What is a Podiatrist? Just a modern name for a Chiropodist. Podiatry concentrates attention on walking injuries, biomechanics and correct footwear. Podiatry/Chiropody also focuses on diagnosis and treatment for nail problems, calluses and corns, verrucas, warts and foot health in general.

Podiatrists and Chiropodists are specialists who:

• Play a key role in preventing and treating those aspects which affect the foot and lower limb
• Are responsible for the early diagnosis of many health problems
• Provide a fully comprehensive foot health servicing including:
  • Relief of pain caused by deformities and dysfunctions
  • Curative foot care
  • Preventative services and recognition of medical conditions which manifest themselves in the feet

Our HPC Registered Chiropodist/Podiatrist Paula Maple qualified in Podiatric Medicine, and is a Member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. She has many years' experience in private, NHS clinic and hospital practice.

Prompt and routine appointments are available between 8:30am and 4:30pm most weekdays, and alternate Saturday mornings. The treatment cost is £37 per session. Paula is registered as an HSA and BUPA provider.
